De Stijl

I love “De Stijl”. De Stijl was a Dutch artistic movement founded in 1917. A few of the things I love about De Stijl is the fact that it only used black, white, sometimes grey and of course the primary colors. And the style itself was very modern in those days. But it’s still simplistic and modern these days. Although this form of art nearly a century old.

In a certain class “Multimedia Design”, I had to pick an art form or movement. We had a large group of students and the art forms/movements could only be chosen once. Since I was pretty much last to choose, I only had a few to choose from. But I was happy with “De Stijl”. One of the assignments included designing my initials in this particular style, both on paper and digital. This was fun to do. You can view a few examples below.
