I'm still working on the new website. Most of the posts (including artworks, blog posts and 365 posts from 2009, 2010 and 2011) are missing. These posts will return eventually. Thanks for your patience!
Okay. So. Um. I tried to do my nails so I can support my country today. Think I did a pretty good job. First time I went all freehand (the football and the Dutch flag). Hup Holland Hup!
Gosh - 541 - Gasoline. Purple nail polish with lovely subtle blue, pink and purple glitters.
OPI - Katy Perry - Not Like The Movies. Quickie before school.
Did my nails while waiting for the bus. Now in the train.
I got a lot of cool make-up for Mother's Day! Check it out.

I don't think the nails look great in this pic but they look more than fine IRL.
Showing off my temporary vanity: http://www.rosana.co.uk/2012/04/15/temporary-vanity
Just a random picture from OPI's Muppets Rainbow Connection nail polish. Cause I feel like it haha.
I wasn't sure at first under which category I should list this post. Because this is in my new home, because we moved recently. But then again, it's about my vanity containing a lot of cosmetics and nail polish. Therefore, to avoid annoying the hell out of my male visitors, I decided to list this as BEAUTY rather than HOME haha.
I should mention I don't have everything on this "vanity" because I simply haven't unpacked all the beauty boxes and bags yet. And there wasn't any more room on this thing.
This thing by the way, used to be my son's changing table. But he's a big boy now and doesn't need changing anymore. So I turned this changing table into a (temporary) vanity. Woot!
So another post about nail polish oldies! This time I want to tell you about another brand. It's well known in Europe and they have a lot of beauty products. I used to be quite a fan. I'm talking about Yves Rocher!
Now if you look on the Yves Rocher website these days, there is not much girly stuff on there. It's aimed at more uhm how do I put this nicely... "mature" women. I ordered loads from Yves Rocher when I was a teenager. They had a lot of glittery stuff and cool make-up in general. I also loved their variety of perfumes. It was like heaven when a package from Yves Rocher came in!
And then later on, I also went to their store in Breda a lot. But I checked recently, and they hardly have any stores left. None of them are in my area.
But these old polishes are cool. The ones shown here are Luminelle Philtre d'Or and Luminelle Argent Extase. They haven't dried out or anything so I might as well start using them sometime soon! But just look at those gorgeous glitters! I think these were bought around the millennium. Back then I didn't have a lot of great base colors so a lot of my glitter polishes were never used.
Have you ever ordered anything from Yves Rocher? Did you like it? I loved the many extra goodies that came with it. And the beauty cases and bags they offered... Ah the good times.
Do you like my nail polish oldies posts? Let me know!
I think the bottles on the pictures are about 10 years old, if not older... I bought them in the past, on a flea market in Belgium. The bottles were brand new back then. A lot of people on the flea markets also sell new items. My mom used to take me to Belgium in the weekends. Well I wouldn't say every weekend, but it sure happened often!
Before I had these bottles, I also had other Création Lamis nail polish, but I think I bought those at a "Guilder Store", meaning everything was for sale for a "Gulden" (our currency back then, now it's Euro...) Anyway I don't know if these "Guilder Stores" still exist and perhaps they're now called Euro Shops or something. I would love to get my hands on some Création Lamis again.
Also, these Guilder Shops didn't just sell Création Lamis nail polish. They also had "dupe" fragrances. I didn't mind the dupe part. And to be honest I usually didn't know what the expensive original was. But back to the nail polish.
The silver, holographic nail polish was my favorite for many years, in combination with a polish from Collection 2000. Even worse, I used half a bottle on my Nokia front so the phone would match my nails. So important! You have no idea.
The normal silver one was nice, but just not my favorite and therefore I never really used it.
The blueish one looks so nice, I've always thought so. But I didn't use it. It's still full! It's a shame really. Well it can still be used because it's not dried up or anything. And by now I have more (nice) base colors to use underneath, which I didn't have 10 years ago. The blue one is special. Because the colors change when you turn it around. It has gold glitters that change into orange and pink/purple depending on the light. I should try it sometime, and when I do I'll definitely post about it.
Does someone know about an online shop or something for Création Lamis? I have checked eBay and when I search for it, I mostly get results for fragrances rather than nail polish. I'd love to see if they still make nice nail polishes. One thing I do remember is that the polish never chipped quickly for me. So it was despite it's low prices a quality polish that lasted quite some time.
Some background information about Création Lamis. It's a Belgian brand. It is (or was?) distributed by BELLURE NV in Belgium. The bottles I have contain 14 ml each.
Now I have to say I "only" have 3 out of 5 from the Katy Perry OPI collection. The ones I have now are the best though. Or well. I realized I should have gotten one more at least. But the fifth is merely a black crackle/shatter top coat, which just isn't my favorite.
- Teenage Dream
Not Like The Movies
- Last Friday Night
- The One That Got Away
The strike through items are the few I don't have. But gosh I have Teenage Dream! And Last Friday Night! And The One That Got Away. OMG! They are prettier IRL than on the pictures I've seen online. Now all I need is the Not Like The Movies one, and the cobalt blue China Glaze Frostbite polish, to go under the Last Friday Night one. Enjoy the pics. I tried my best but it's hard getting decent pics in this dark apartment, without using flash. Obviously I will show these polishes at some point, while wearing them.
The package came in damaged today. I am sure this is not the seller's fault. But it is disturbing. Because the polishes came rolling out of the package without me opening the package myself. So now I'm wondering. Did one of the mail carriers take a peek? Did my neighbors have a look? Either way, I'm glad the polishes made it all in one piece.
So as you may have seen, I recently got myself the entire set of Muppets OPI nail polish! If you haven't: clicky clicky! Anyway, I decided to show each one on my blog. Now I am not like all those beauty blogs out there (they are cool, but I'll do this my way haha), so I am not going to put one on, take pictures, take it off and repeat the whole process again. I will pick one polish, take pictures, then wear it for a couple of days and eventually remove it again. The first polish I tried was Excuse Moi, but I forgot to take awesome pictures. I will wear that one again so don't worry.
Today I present to you... ANIMAL-ISTIC! It's inspired by Animal. It's a red polish with red/orange glitters in it. It's not my favorite, but it looks pretty rad for a red polish, don't you think?
Small disclaimer though, the color definitely looks different in real life than it does on my pictures. Oh and please ignore the ugly edges, I am too afraid to use too much nail polish remover. Usually the excess wears off in the shower. I'll see if I can take better pictures tomorrow!
UPDATED! I added a new picture, taking by daylight so you can see what the color looks like during the day. Still crappy excess edges but at least you can see a more true color now.
UPDATED AGAIN! March 9: I have been wearing the nail polish for 5 days now. This is pretty amazing. There still hasn't been any chipping! Awesome.
I'm so happy! I'm so happy! I'm so happy!
The complete Muppets OPI collection came in today, complete with display haha. I took a couple of pictures to show you the new stuff!
Now for another dilemma, which one to choose first?!
I bought the complete set of Muppets nail polish by OPI. I had to go on eBay to buy it, because I couldn't find a proper sale point in my own country. Or at least not a location that I can physically reach. Also, I looked around and a bottle from this collection is approximately €15 in my country. There are 12 different ones, so that would mean I'd have to pay €180 for the entire collection. WTF?! On eBay I found a very good deal. Even with the (quite pricey) shipping I pay half what I pay in my own country. Nice, right? So you can expect a couple of posts about Muppets OPI nail polish soon.
