Love this one.

We visited my second home today: IKEA of course. IKEA in Eindhoven to be precise. We went there to buy the MASKROS ceiling light. It was announced with a discount of €40, though in reality the ad was misleading and the discount was €30. Still a nice discount. We saved €55 on two lamps, since we got the large and small MASKROS lamps. Awesome. Can't wait to put these up! ![]()
Today I unpacked our new Dyson and used it in our living room. And all I can say is that I love this thing! ![]()
See those product images? Well when I saw them online I thought, it's an okay sofa. We were unable to move our old one to the new house (simply because it was broken and kinda too big to move). So, I had been looking for a new sofa for about a year or so. I just could not find a sofa that would meet our needs and wishes. And then I came across someone else's corner sofa on Pinterest. I found out it was the KARLSTAD sofa with a chaise longue add-on unit. I just knew we had to have that one.
So after having lived without a sofa in the new house for over a month, we ordered the sofa at our local IKEA and it was delivered this week! I was so excited. And shocked. It's so BIIIIIG! I was actually planning to buy the corner sofa plus add-on unit, a 3-seat sofa and a footstool. Well. I'm still going to buy the footstool and I wouldn't mind an armchair of the same series. But the 3-seat sofa is NOT going to fit in the living room lol. We have a big living room but the sofa is so big that another sofa wouldn't fit. And that's fine haha.
Anyway, here are the pics from the assembly evening (last Thursday) and some nicer pictures taken during the day. I love this sofa!!!
Just look at that! It's not green anymore! In case you missed it, I painted the radiator last night. It's nice and white again. And the green parts (the support for the radiator screen) are now white (primer). Will be painting it again on another day in the off white/creamy color we picked!
The delivery people just dropped off 5 large boxes. It's not hard to see what's inside. It's our new KARLSTAD corner sofa! OMG OMG OMG! So happy and excited now. ![]()
Been working on the radiator in the living room tonight. Cleaned, sanded and painted all white again. MUCH better than the way it was before (you do not want to see the before state haha).
So as you might have read and seen before, everything in this house was green when we bought it. We don't hate green but this was just overkill. So today I decided to work on the radiator screen in the living room. Now I am not really a fan of the type of radiator screen the previous owners had. But I don't feel like throwing it away and replacing it with something brand new when a splash of fresh paint can change a lot of well. That's why I used primer today on the screen. And once the paint is dry, I can start with the actual paint. But you'll see that some other time. ![]()
Tomorrow that green stuff will be gone! At least it'll be gone on this bit of the house lol. Though looking at this, the radiator itself could use some work too. Hmmm.
Unpacked most of my Sims on PC/Mac games collection. Seems there isn't any room to expand it further though. Not enough space!
(Temporary) new creative workplace.
So my office space itself is ready, however I don't have new custom furniture yet. Until then, I'm using my old creative desk. ![]()
We we're trying to put the KURA bed together. We usually don't have any problems assembling IKEA furniture. But in this case there were a couple of screws that looked a lot like they were the same. So when we were busy trying to connect a couple of pieces together, one screw got stuck. We ended up with a broken, unusable piece. So Wouter went back to IKEA (and that took about 3 hours or so before he was back?!) When he got back and we continued the work, we found out about the different screws. But hey, IKEA provided us with a new part and new screws and so on. Very, very nice of them. At least we weren't left with yet ANOTHER broken KURA bed haha. Oh and Seth is SOOOOOOOO impressed and happy with his bed.
We visited IKEA today! Finally bought the KARLSTAD chaise longue and KURA bed. Aaaaand some other items as well.
The floor is done! I like it. It's different than we initially planned but that's okay. In case you're wondering: the varnish we wanted was out of stock and we didn't feel like waiting, so we just got another varnish.
Our kitchen is getting rather full with all these furniture shelves. It's a good thing the floor is almost ready. Can't wait to put the furniture together. Then I can start unpacking stuff and filling up our bookcases!
